Crash Fix - Large Address Aware
Large Address Aware.exe - This program applies the /LARGEADDRESSAWARE flag to 32-bit Windows executables which fixes common crashes with UT2004.exe/UnrealEd.exe/UCC.exe by increasing the memory limit from 2GB to 4GB:
- CreateTexture failed(8007000E).
- Ran out of virtual memory. To prevent this condition, you must free up more space on your primary hard disk.
Installation instructions:
- Download the executable above
- Close UT2004.exe (it will not work otherwise)
- Open
Large Address Aware.exe, navigate to UT2004/System/UT2004.exe
- Check the box, then save
- Open UT2004.exe, verify it worked by typing
memstat in the console (`) which will show /4194303K next to Phys=
- Alternatively, type
debug gpf and it will say 4095 instead of 2047 RAM in the crash window if done correctly
Once done, you will experience fewer crashes. Alternatively, use 64-bit UT2004 ut2004-win64.exe for the same effect and much higher performance (1.5-2x FPS).
Note: this does not apply to 64-bit UT2004.
